Each time we would go for qadambosi, Syedna Taher Saifuddin Saheb would inevitably say ‘Kaaley aavjo’. When I went on 18 Rajab for qadambosi in Matheran, he was surprised to see me. After qadambosi, I found it strange that he never said ‘Kaaley aavjo’ and we – my father and I –actually discussed this point back from the qadambosi and on the way to our bungalow. We said that since he did not ask us to be present the following day we were free to go back to Bombay. The next morning, I received a frantic call from my husband who was in Bombay that Huzurala had expired.
