Eleven years of marriage and childless. When one passes through this kind of experience the word that generally comes to mind is ‘na-ummeed’.
We were concerned as my menstrual cycles would vary from 30 to 60 days. In Dubai we consulted a doctor who prescribed imported fertility tablets. Thereafter, we gave up on doctors and just prayed that Allah would give us a child by the vaseela of Huzurala.
On the morning of 30 January 1985 (9th Jamadil Ula 1405) I dreamt that I was doing qadambosi of Aqa Maula and doing did araz for a child.
Maula replied (in my dream): ‘Aajey raatey tamara shohar si mulaakat karjo. When I awoke the first thing I heard was the azaan. That evening we returned home from Maulatena Fatema-tuz-Zahra's wafaat majlis.
Taha was born on 29th October after Maghreb (16th Safar, 1406)
During the pregnancy we requested Aqa Maula – then in Dubai – for a name and he simply said ‘Taha’. We had two more sons thereafter.
Such is the power of dua.
