Following interview of Shaikh Abbas Feroz Hamid by Mudar Patherya
In 1416 hijri, we were in the Jameaa tus Saifyah in Surat and Aqa Maula was visiting. The word was that aap Huzurala would visit some student rooms, so we cleaned our room aney taiyyari keedhi. We were among the fortunate few; Aqa Maula entered our room and we expected him to glance at the way the room was kept and leave for another room. What he did thereafter became a lesson for us; he turned towards the bathroom, put his feet out, stepped on a chakri and entered the angoliya (bathroom) and looked around for 30 long seconds. Aap yeh te baad farmayu ke lota ma haji rang chey, ehne nimbu ane raakh si saaf karjo! We had failed to notice that after the room had been painted, some of it had splashed on the lota! Moulana yeh batayu ke tahaarat kitnu zaroori chhey aney rang hoyi to vuzu kai tarah thayi? It was a lesson in detail and enthusiasm for all of us. Huzurala was 83 then.
