Web GIS Application Developer

General:

Are you a creative, technically strong Web application developer with proven design skills? Join Urban

Environmental Research and be part of Web site development for broad use in the GIS and Web

mapping communities. Our ArcGIS Online product is used to bring geographic information to life in

interactive maps and applications on the Web providing an opportunity for a large collection of geographic

knowledge to be applied in new ways.

Responsibilities:

Design, develop and maintain public-facing Web mapping sites and applications through concept,

standards

Work with existing design templates to maintain image including implementation of specific

Ensure cross-browser, cross-platform integrity of Web designs

Maintain knowledge of current trends in Web application development

Deliver exceptional, quality service to all clients

Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in GIS, computer science, or a related field.

Three or more years of experience with Web application design and programming

Demonstrated graphic design skills for Web sites

2.0 concepts

Proven Web design/development experience using CHTML and CSS, an understanding of Web

Experience with JavaScript, Adobe Flex and/or Microsoft Silverlight

Strong written and verbal skills; strong interpersonal skills

Recommended Qualifications:

Experience designing Web mapping sites and applications of geospatial concepts

Prior experience working in a cross-platform environment

Certifications and Licenses:

Microsoft gold certification is required.

Requires possession of a valid Nevada Class C driver’s license at time of appointment.

Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a background investigation. Periodically after

employment background investigations may be conducted.

Salary:

$55,000 to $75,000 depending on education, qualification, and experience.
